About us
About Stock Classroom
Stock Classroom exists to make learning to invest genuinely simple โ for complete beginners, of any age, with no finance background and no jargon.
Why we exist
Most investing "education" is either dry and intimidating or a thinly-disguised sales pitch. We think the basics of investing are simple, useful, and something everyone deserves to understand โ so we built a friendly, interactive course (and these free guides) that start from absolute zero and build up to running a whole portfolio. You practise on a risk-free simulator before a penny of real money is involved.
Who writes this
Our guides are researched, written and edited by the Stock Classroom team โ a small, independent group of writers and educators focused on beginner personal finance. We're not a bank, a broker, or a fund selling you a product; we have nothing to push. Our only job is to explain things clearly and accurately.
How we keep it accurate
- Every guide is written in plain English and checked for factual accuracy before publishing.
- Where it matters, we point to authoritative sources (for example the UK government on ISAs, the Financial Conduct Authority, and MoneyHelper).
- We review and update guides as rules and figures change, and show a "last updated" date on each.
Education, not financial advice
This is important: everything on Stock Classroom is educational. We explain how investing works โ we do not tell you what to buy, and nothing here is personal financial, investment or tax advice. Investing always carries risk, including losing money. For decisions about your own money, do your own research or speak to a qualified, regulated adviser.
